agaDISINFESTATION_

Food raw materials in the conventional and organic sector such as grains, spices, nuts, seeds and oilseeds are disinfested from pests using the new agaSAAT® pressure disinfestation system without any treatment residues. From prophylaxis to high infestation, approved CARBO carbonic acid removes eggs, larvae and adult pests.

CARBO carbon dioxide’s mode of action makes use of three properties: Oxygen deprivation, pressure effect and acidification of the cell sap and haemolymph of insects. What otherwise takes days with other systems, pressure disinfestation achieves within a very short time, freeing the goods from moths, beetles and other pests. This procedure is also authorised for use with organic products.

Due to the natural carbonic acid, food, as well as herbs, pet food and tobacco, can be treated without residues. It is gentle on the product, declaration-free, toxicologically harmless and environmentally friendly.

With the new pressure disinfestation, we are expanding the agaFOOD-SAFETY PROGRAMME with an important component that optimally supplements our chemical-free and sustainable method of working.
The two pressure chambers are filled with CARBO carbon dioxide for pest control.
